Question A Response

I believe Satrapi chose to produce her memoir in a comic style because it is unconventional. Most memoirs are written in novel form, which isn't particularly engaging for the reader. By using illustrations she is able to more effectively and accurately communicate events. When reading a book, everyone is going to see something a little different in their head; by using images she is able to show the reader exactly what she wants them to see.
